Albay lawmaker files for upgraded Bicol RTT hospital

Albay Representative Joey Sarte Salceda filed House Bill 8856, which aims to enhance the facilities of the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) in Legazpi City.

Under the bill, the hospital will have an increased bed capacity from 250 to 800, and higher quality of equipment for its facilities, and an increased number of medical staff to cater the needs of the whole Bicol region.

The bill will allow BRTTH to provide for the medical needs of the patients from Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Catanduanes who can only afford government-owned hospitals.

As for category, the upgrade will raise BRTTH to general hospital status.
